Dartboard: The standard dartboard is used, with the bullseye not in play.
-
Starting the Game: Players determine the throwing order by "bulling up," where each throws a single dart to see who lands closest to the bullseye. The player closest starts first.

Rounds: In each round, players aim for the number that corresponds to the round number. For instance, in the first round, all players aim for the number 1, in the second round for the 2, and so on.
-
Scoring:
-
Single: Hitting the single segment scores the number's value (e.g., hitting single 3 scores 3 points).
-
Double: Hitting the double ring doubles the score (double 3 scores 6 points).
-
Triple: Hitting the triple ring triples the score (triple 3 scores 9 points).
-
-
Highest Score: After all rounds are completed, the player with the highest score wins. Remember, only darts landing on the number in play for that round contribute to your score.
-
Shanghai Finish: If a player hits the single, double, and triple of the number in play in the same round, they achieve a "Shanghai." This immediately ends the game, and the player who accomplishes this wins, regardless of the previous scores.
-
Shorter Games: For time constraints or larger groups, you might opt for a 7-round game instead of 20, focusing on numbers 1 through 7.
-
Strategic Play: Aim for triples since they offer the highest points. If you're close to getting a Shanghai, it might be worth the risk to try for it.
